Come and enjoy Panoramic Brissago, situated on the hills overlooking lake Locarno. You will be staying within 1 hour drive from the Swiss Alps and 2 hours drive from Milan. At Panoramic Brissago you can truly take in the view, relax and experience Switzerland! The house is on two floors; the living/dining room, the kitchen and a bathroom are on the ground floor. In the living room a pellet stove can be used to provide additional heating, while also enjoying the warm atmosphere given by the fire. From the ground floor guests can also access a terrace leading to the garden and the granite stone terrace with amazing lake views. On the first floor there are three bedrooms with king size, double and single beds, as well as another bathroom. Additionally, bedroom three has a balcony with a spectacular lake view. Lying at the lowest point in Switzerland, just 197 metres above sea level, and nested between the shores of Lake Maggiore and the steep mountains behind, Brissago is a small town on the Italian frontier. Brissago is famous for its islands, which seen from above look like bright green spots in the blue of the lake. The neo-classical villa contains a restaurant and the administration offices of the Botanical Park of Canton Ticino. The gardens feature numerous types of plants such as the Himalayan cinnamon with its scent of camphor, the Madagascar gladiolus, the bald cypress from the swamps of North America with its trunk under water, and numerous other exotic species. The islands of Brissago are easy to reach by boat, have the mildest climate in Switzerland, and can be best admired from Ronco s/Ascona, a little village caressed by the sun, situated on the slopes of the mountain and characterised by the church of San Martino, which dominates the surrounding countryside. The hill between Ronco and Monte Verità above Ascona is the site of luxury villas, and the view can be enjoyed from one of the spectacular footpaths. Within 15 minutes drive from the house lies the famous city of Locarno. The Piazza Grande is Locarno’s heart, an enchanting square where every year the International Film Festival and the “Moon and Stars” music festival take place. The Lido di Locarno is a wonderful place for swimming in lake Maggiore, sunbathing in the huge grounds, relaxing in the pool or having lunch in the shade while enjoying a glass of local wine. Behind the colourful gardens of the Casino, The Ghisla Art Collection displays remarkable modern and contemporary art of international value. For a nice walk by the lake, the promenade is the perfect place to relax and enjoy an ice cream while taking in the spectacular view. Finally, the breathtaking view which can be enjoyed from Cardada Panoramic View Point is without a doubt worth the trip on the cable car from Orselina. We recommend driving to the property and parking in the free parking spaces on the street (car must be moved every 24h). Alternatively from Locarno train station you can catch the number 316 bus (direction Brissago, Co' di Campo) and get off after 15 minutes at Brissago, Municipio. From there you can catch the number 8 bus (direction Brissago, Gadero) and get off after 10 minutes at Brissago, Porta. From there it's only a 5 minutes walk to the house.
