The house is on three floors; it has a fully equipped kitchen/dining room with table and chairs, a spacious living room, two bedrooms, a terrace, a laundry room, two parking spaces and across the road there is a spacious garden with direct lake access! On the ground floor there is a foyer and the laundry room. On the first floor there are two bedrooms with lake view and a modern bathroom with shower. On the second floor there is a fully equipped kitchen/dining room, a spacious living room and a large terrace with lake view. On the other side of the road guests can access a private garden with barbecue, dining area, shower facilities, a pier and direct lake access. Since 2012 Carabietta is a municipality of Collina d'Oro (Golden Hill), a union of four towns (Agra, Gentilino, Montagnola, and Carabietta) which were once separated. To be able to say that you have really visited and known Lugano and its region, you must include in your itinerary at least a day to discover the Collina d'Oro. Its scenic beauty, the quiet villages, the paths through the woods and the vineyards are truly enchanting. The typical grottos offer excellent food and wine experiences and the small treasures found in churches and historic buildings allow you to spend truly magic moments in this corner of sunny Switzerland. Collina d'Oro is not a place of mass tourism and represents an authentic heritage for nature and culture enthusiasts. For a long time international personalities have been linked to this town and projects such as that of the House Museum and the path dedicated to Hermann Hesse have been created over the years. Only 10 minutes drive from Carabietta, the town of Morcote has recently been declared one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland. With its characteristic small alleys, the arcades of old patrician homes, valuable architectural monuments and its natural beauty, Morcote is considered “the Pearl of Ceresio”. Of particular architectural interest, is the church of Santa Maria del Sasso, the terraced cemetery, the Tower of the Captain and the beautiful Scherrer gardens. Alternatively, only 20 minutes drive from Carabietta, Lugano is the largest town in the holiday region of Ticino, and is not only Switzerland's third most important financial centre, but also a city of parks and flowers, villas and sacred buildings. With Mediterranean flair, Lugano offers all the advantages of a world-class city, combined with the cachet of a small town. We recommend driving to the property as we have two private parking spaces. Alternatively you can get the 433 bus from Lugano Autosilo Balestra towards Cappella-Agnuzzo Stazione and get off at Barbengo Casaccia (30 minutes). From there it's a 1 minute walk to the house.
