The flat is on two floors; two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with a gorgeous fireplace and another bathroom downstairs. Outside the flat there is a large table and chairs for dining outside as well as a breakfast table. The property was recently renovated to provide our guests with all the needed comforts while retaining a warm but traditional rustic look. The Mendrisiotto is the Southern-most region of Switzerland and is characterised by gentle hills dotted with vineyards and numerous picturesque Old-Town centres. Famous for its Merlot wine, the region offers many activities such as grape harvesting (September/October) and various wine tours where guests can learn about wine-making, taste different wines and eat local delicacies. The Monte Generoso with its breathtaking views, numerous hiking trails and the new Fiore di Pietra building is a ""must see"" in the area. Guests can travel to the summit (1704 m altitude) using a rack railway which stretches for nine-kilometres along a truly picturesque mountain scenery. We also recommend visiting the Muggio valley, where nature, agriculture and tradition dominate the colourful landscape. Castel San Pietro can easily be reached by bus in 10 minutes from Mendrisio train station (513 towards Chiasso or 522 towards Somazzo. Alternatively guests can drive to the property and park in the town centre's car park using the permit provided by us (free of charge).

Please note that a tourist tax of 2.00 CHF per person per night is payable on arrival. Please note that during Christmas, New Year, Easter and the summer season we prefer bookings of minimum 7 nights.
