Beautifully renovated house with granite stone terrace and a spectacular view of the Maggia valley! South facing sunny property with spacious terrace, patio, large balcony, barbecue area and a stylish pellet stove. Come and enjoy Maggia by the Hill, situated just 5 minutes  drive from Locarno. You will be staying within 1 hour drive from the Swiss Alps and 2 hours from Milan. At Maggia by the Hill you can truly take in the view, relax and experience Switzerland. The house is on two floors; two bedrooms and the bathroom on the ground floor, and the living room/dining room, the kitchen and the third room on the first floor. In the living room a modern stove can be used to provide additional heating to the ground floor rooms, while also enjoying the warm atmosphere given by the fire. From the living room, guests can access a long spacious balcony with rolling sun shades and a breakfast table. In front of the house there is a patio with a small garden, while a beautiful granite terrace with barbecue, table and chairs can be found on the other side. The property was recently renovated to provide our guests with all the needed comforts while retaining a warm but traditional rustic look. Just a few minutes walk from the house you can find a natural beach on the edge of the river Maggia. Within a short walk from the house guests can also visit the Marguerite Arp Foundation, where an extensive art collection and archive are open to the public on the grounds of the studio-house and garden established by Jean Arp. North of the property, the Maggia valley offers abundant natural beauty such as the Val Bavona, the steepest and rockiest valley in the whole Alpine region (must see). Additionally, cultural heritage sites such as the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista and the Walserhaus museum in Bosco Gurin are available to visit. South of the property is Locarno, one the hottest spots for tourists visiting the region in the summer, as a number of events such as the Moon & Stars concerts, the Locarno Festival of film and the Luci e Ombre fun fair take place. You can drive to the property and park your car in the nearby public car park free of charge. Alternatively, San Martino railway station is just within a 2 minutes walk (Ferrovie Autolinee Regionali Ticinesi FART).

Please note that there are stairs to be climbed up to the property. Please note that a tourist tax of 2.00 CHF per person per night is payable on arrival. Please note that during Christmas, New Year, Easter and the summer season we  prefer bookings of minimum 7 nights.
